PHILOSOPHY

Here are the principles that guide my work with each client:

  • Listen to Understand: Every client brings unique goals, experiences, and needs. Listening deeply helps me understand where they're coming from and how best to support their journey.

  • Work with the Person in Front of You: Fitness isn’t one-size-fits-all. I adapt my approach to each individual, tailoring workouts and advice to suit who they are and what they need in the moment.

  • Recognise the Potential Within: Every client has an untapped capacity for growth and achievement. My role is to help them unlock that potential, showing them just how much they’re capable of.

  • Motivate Clients to be Adventurous: Trying new things keeps training exciting and helps clients break through plateaus. I encourage stepping out of comfort zones to discover strengths they didn’t know they had.

  • Empower Client Independence: True success comes when clients feel confident enough to train independently. My aim is to equip each client with the knowledge and skills to maintain their progress on their own.

  • Apply Progressive Overload: Sustainable growth happens with consistent challenges. I incorporate progressive overload to ensure clients are always moving forward, building strength and endurance.

My story

Fitness to me is more than aesthetics, and that it can embolden you with the confidence to grow; both physically and mentally.

At 11 years old I started tennis and by 15 I was competing in county tennis and badminton; and I was on the school athletics and basketball teams. I was never the best, never picked first, but all it took was a teacher to tell me that I was a talented athlete for me start taking it seriously, and at 17 I was head of sport for my house at school, and by 18 I was pursuing a degree in Sports Science. At 20 I was president of my university rowing club, where I stayed for many years coaching.

Between 22-28 I went and explored the world, and at 29 I became a Personal Trainer. 30-33 I spent in gyms building a my business and training in a very ‘functional’ and Crossfit style.

At 33 I lost my Dad to suicide, and this opened a door to a whole world of mental health, giving me the tools and the language to talk openly about the internal lived experience. It was during this time I re-found my love of running and cycling - endurance sport has the ability to help process our traumatic experiences and emotions.

At 37, I’m strong, happy, and have a keen sense of adventure. I regularly compete in Ironman 70.3 and I’m in the top 25% of competitors for my age category - hopefully that’ll come down in 2025.
